Feng Shui

Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) literally means "Feng" (風) = Wind and "Shui" (水) = Water,  is an ancient Chinese practice that focuses on harmonizing individuals with their surrounding environment

It’s deeply rooted in Taoist philosophy and works with the flow of energy—“Chi” or “Qi”—to create balance, well-being, and abundance in one's life.

Core Concepts of Feng Shui

Chi (Energy)

The invisible energy or life force that flows through everything—your home, body, and the natural world.

Feng Shui aims to optimize and promote positive Chi (Sheng Chi) in your home, workspace, or any environment and clear out negative Chi (Sha Chi) so energy flows freely and supports your life.

Yin and Yang

The balance of opposites (dark/light, soft/hard, cold/warm).

A good Feng Shui space maintains a harmonious balance between yin (quiet, soft, calm, feminine) and yang (active, bright, bold, masculine) energies (e.g., balancing cozy quiet zones with lively active areas).

Five Elements

Each element corresponds to a color, material, and direction:

Wood (growth, vitality – green, east)

Fire (passion, transformation – red, south)

Earth (stability, nourishment – yellow, center/southwest/northeast)

Metal (clarity, precision – white/gray, west)

Water (flow, intuition – black/blue, north)

Bagua Map

The Bagua Map is like an energy blueprint of your space.

It divides your home or room into nine areas, each representing a different life aspect. Each of the nine zones represents a life area: wealth, career, love, health, family, etc.

Good Feng Shui Tips

Practical Steps

Declutter: Stagnant energy comes from clutter.

Entryway: Keep it clean and welcoming; it’s the “mouth of Chi.” Face doors when seated – it gives a sense of security.

Mirrors: Use wisely to reflect light and energy—never face them directly toward the bed.

Plants: Add life and vitality; especially in the wealth or health areas.

Colors: Use them strategically based on the five elements and the Bagua.

Allow natural light and air – it refreshes Chi.
